Untitled Project Image

Walks in the Woods

Originally started as an effort to slow my photographic process down, and begin moving away from exclusively photographing birds, Walks in the Woods has transformed into an exposition of what catches my eye in the forest. It’s not so much a showing of nature travel images, but much more hyper-focused. Not “good photo opportunities,” but what strikes me as relevant in my exploration. An individual leaf, a shadow on a tree trunk, new growth, evidence of historical human involvement, or maybe just a shape and color. This is often what draws my attention when out hiking with a camera. Instead of carrying loads of heavy equipment like I normally do with birds, I’m carrying one camera and one lens. This project has an end goal, but that will be an announcement for a later date. Click on any image to reveal the entire (and always growing) gallery.
